Jay is an Associate Professor of Farm Management Education at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, North Dakota.
Jay is from the Devils Lake area originally and farmed for 15 years along with his teaching duties at LRSC. He now works with about 60 farm
families to assist in a range of farm management practices.
Prior to coming to LRSC in 1978, Jay was a loan officer for Farm Credit Services and taught Agriculture for five years
at Bismarck and Wahpeton. He completed a M.S. degree from North Dakota State University in 1979. Jay received the LRSC Teacher of the Year
Award and the North Dakota Adult Teacher of the Year Award in 2002. Jay received NDSU's Agriculturist of the Year Award for Ramsey County in 2004 and
serves as President of the Devils Lake Lions Club.
Jay and his wife Vangie have been married since 1972 and have two boys, Steve and Scott.
Previously, Jay has served as NFRBMEA Secretary and is a Past President of this organization.
