President Elect:
Jay D. Olsen

Raised on a family farm and ranch in Utah, Jay has been a cowboy, a farmer, and a rancher in Utah, Florida and Idaho. Jay graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Ag Economics (Farm/Ranch Management), and a M.S. in Animal Science (Reproduction and Physiology).

For the past 11 years, he has worked with farmers and ranchers in south central Utah as a Farm/Ranch Management instructor at Snow College in Richfield, Utah. During these 11 years, he has taught and advised over 180 farm families in farm business management. Currently, he has 41 farm families enrolled in the Farm/Ranch Management Program.

Jay developed a case study instruction book for teaching farm and small business accounting using Quicken or QuickBooks, which USU Extension currently uses. Each year Jay teaches four to five night classes for farm families and small business in the use of QuickBooks using the case study.

Jay and his wife, Lauri, have 4 children: one is married, one is a freshman in college, and twin 6 year-old boys.
